Speciality & Fine Food Asia and Speciality Chocolate Asia will inspire you with new ideas and demonstrations.

Speciality & Fine Food Asia will be held for the first time at Suntec, Singapore. Could you give us some reasons why to visit the show?

Our sister company, UK-based Fresh Montgomery, has been successfully running Speciality & Fine Food in London for the last seventeen years. It is widely recognised as the market-leading event for artisan/gourmet producers and suppliers to meet with the right trade buyers. Suppliers and buyers alike have been asking for a similar event to cater to the Southeast Asian market – and here we are now.

Speciality & Fine Food Asia (SFFA) will be a three-day, trade-only show, held in the heart of the Singapore CBD at Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre. Trade visitors will be able to meet relevant suppliers, source the latest products, meet with up-and-coming artisan brands, get inspired by live demos and masterclasses, and seek advice from experts in the F&B and hospitality industries.

These events are destined to inspire the Southeast Asian food & beverage markets. What do you think the trade show represents the annual calendar of the industry?

SFFA will no doubt be an exciting addition to the Southeast Asian calendar, as it seeks to provide a relevant launch pad for unique, artisan brands looking to enter or expand their presence in the region.

For time-strapped executives from the F&B and hospitality industries, the show’s value proposition, focus and size will allow them to meet their objectives of visiting such trade shows – be it uncovering new suppliers or brands, learning of new trends etc – in an easy-to-navigate, centrally-located venue.

What novelties will we find in this year's edition?

There will be many new artisanal brands and speciality products from the region, in addition to established gourmet brands from Europe. For our inaugural edition, we’re proud to announce the inclusion of The Start-Up Village – a dedicated area for companies below 3 years old. Extremely popular among the smaller artisan brands, this provides them with the opportunity of participating in a
the targeted trade show that provides access to the right trade buyers at a lower investment.

Alongside the exhibition, you offer a large program full of other activities. Can you recommend us an event or session in particular?

Fine Food Live is a highlight not to be missed! Chefs will be conducting exciting demos and providing practical tips on menu development, plating and trends. Industry experts will also be sharing their stories/experiences with the audience over the 3 days of the show. However, all activities are designed to be highly relevant and practical for the F&B and hospitality industries, so there will definitely be something for everyone.

Who is Speciality & Fine Food addressed to? What is the exhibitor’s profile?

Speciality & Fine Food Asia caters to decision makers, influencers and buyers from the retail, foodservice, travel and wholesale/distribution sectors. Expect to see hotel and restaurant owners, GMs, chefs, F&B directors and managers, purchasers, retail owners, brand/category managers etc from Southeast Asia.

The exhibitor profile consists of brands that have the only premium, gourmet and artisan food & drink products and chocolates. Some categories include health & functional foods, sauces & condiments, tea & coffee, bakery & confectionery, jams & preserves, artisan chocolates, charcuterie and more.

Can you give some tips for those exhibiting in Singapore for the first time?

With its strategic position as the gateway to Southeast Asia, excellent infrastructure and ease of communication (with English being the primary language), Singapore is a very easy place to set up or conduct business. There are also strict regulations in place to protect the market, so exhibitors need to ensure they have the necessary travel visa and relevant food permits to bring their products to the trade show. The Montgomery team is assisting exhibitors in this area.

Secondly, Singapore and the neighbouring countries of Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines have an extremely high internet penetration rate with savvy social media users. Montgomery will also be promoting the show to the right audiences in Southeast Asia through a mix of traditional, online and social media.

Exhibitors should leverage on Montgomery’s marketing efforts to fully maximise their time here at SFFA.
