Today we are pleased to bring you all the information that you will need to know about Offshore Technology Conference (OTC). This is a very important event in the energy industry. This year the OTC organizers were so kind to tell us all details and highlights that we can expect at such great event, that will be held in Houston at NGR park between april 30th and may 3rd.
The fair presents a BtoB Networking Platform. Could you explain about it?
Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) is where energy professionals come to meet and exchange ideas and opinions that lead to advancements in scientific and technical knowledge for development of offshore oil and gas resources.
On average, OTC hosts over 70,000 delegates from more than 100 countries and over 2,000 exhibitors which represent over 40 countries. Due to the scope of the conference, tens of thousands of oil and gas professionals choose to travel to OTC which makes this a prime opportunity for professionals to network and create business connections as well as secure deals between companies.
What are the latest trends in the Offshore Technology? What trends do you think we can expect over the next 50 years?
This year we’re focused on tools and techniques to reduce cost, which is already being done through industry-wide integration. The more efficient our industry innovations are, the more cost effective we can be industry wide.
Looking forward to the future and the next 50 years, we definitely expect to see an increase in innovations marketed towards keeping up with the ever-growing global demand, so tools and techniques that are designed for increased efficiency and cost reduction, as we rely more heavily on technology, should be expected.
What news have you prepared for the 2018 edition? What are the highlights?
The 2018 conference will kick-off a celebration of OTC’s 50th year which will culminate in 2019. During this year’s conference, we will recognize the industry’s support in helping develop OTC into the internationally recognized conference it is today.
Programming will reflect on our history, the current state of the industry, and what’s on the horizon. OTC intends to credit and commemorate what these first 50 years have brought to the industry, to the local and global community and to OTC, its speakers, contributors, attendees, and exhibitors who have made OTC what it is over the last 50 years.
OTC will also host a series of special events to commemorate the last 50 years. On Monday, April 30th, an opening ceremony commemorating the 50th OTC will be held with C-suite speakers from companies including ConocoPhillips, Petrobras, Royal Dutch Shell, Halliburton, National Oilwell Varco, and Total.
A ceremonial ribbon pulling will follow the opening ceremony. Afterwards, a 50th OTC Legacy Luncheon will be held to pay homage to the volunteers and exhibitors who have given their time and hard work to OTC throughout the years. The day closes with the Party on the Parkway, an evening of networking, fun, dancing and live music from Dysfunkshun Junkshun, a cover band from Austin, Texas.
This year’s event will also feature the OTC Distinguished Achievement Awards Luncheon to recognize the OTC Distinguished Achievement Award recipients, raise funds for a worthy cause, the Young Women’s College Preparatory Academy (YWCPA), and provide a great opportunity to network with industry leaders.
On May 2nd, we are hosting The Next Wave, a program organized by young professionals to encourage communication between professionals of different generations.
