oils + fats is the world´s only international trade fair for business, technology and innovations in vegetable and animal oils and fats. Is the meeting place for the “Who’s Who” of the oils and fats industry and on September 15, the 'International Trade Fair for Business, Technology and Innovations' will open at the MOC Veranstaltungscenter in Munich. The expectations
This year Europe´s only trade fair for vegetable and animal oils and fats is attracting 44 exhibitors from 16 countries. The exhibitors come from Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Italy, Netherlands, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, UK and Uruguay.
This event is a small but highly specialized trade fair, a meeting place for the 'Who's Who' of the sector. 55 percent of the exhibitors come from outside Germany. A trade audience of around 1,000 is expected to visit the show.
The novelties for 2015 edition
The supporting program of trade events at oils+fats 2015 builds a bridge between R&D and industrial applications. The individual events in this program are being held at an 'Innovations Platform' located in the exhibition hall itself.
The motto for this platform is: 'Science meets Industry'. On day one of the fair, the supporting program takes a look at the global markets. Thomas Mielke, of ISTA Mielke GmbH - OIL WORLD, Hamburg, will be giving a lecture entitled 'Influence of the global market for oilseed on its production and processing in Europe'. On day two the focus is on biorefineries, and on day three the lectures will concentrate on the theme of automation.
This year, the supporting program of oils+fats will again feature a 'Practical Short Course', spread over two days, directed at young professionals and newcomers.
International Symposium on Deep Frying
Taking place for the first time as an integral part of oils+fats is the 8th International Symposium on Deep Frying, organized by Euro Fed Lipid (EFL).
The symposium focuses on aspects that will promote a better understanding and optimization of the deep-fat frying process, in order to strengthen the market for fried products in the future. The speakers come from all over the world. They include: Richard F. Stier, Sonoma, USA; Bertrand Matthäus, Max Rubner Institute, Detmold, Germany; Gloria Marquez-Ruiz, Spanish National Research Council, Spain; Felix Aladedunye, University of Lethbridge, Canada; Pramod Francis, Prasan Solutions, Cochin, India ;Neil McLeod, Filtercorp, Shawell, UK; and Pierre Gonde, French Food Industry Association, Villeneuve, France.
The trade audience
The trade audience at the show includes producers of crude and refined oils and fats, of fatty acids, margarines, nutraceuticals and edible oils and fats, as well as producers of feedstuffs, biofuels, detergents, glycerol, lanolin, lubricants and waxes. The refiners of crude oils and fats, traders in oils and fats, machine and equipment manufacturers and agricultural interest groups also make use of oils+fats as a knowledge and technology platform.
Exhibitors profile
The exhibitors at oils+fats will be presenting the latest solutions for the production and processing of oils and fats, including quality control and assurance, raw and auxiliary materials, logistics, filling and packaging technology, and—new this year—deep frying. As in other segments, cost- and energy-saving is an important topic in the oils and fats industry.
Modernizing systems and making them more efficient, implementing new processes, developing new products and creating potential for added value—these will be the top themes at oils+fats 2015.
