Lightweight Metals and Composites Symposium (hosted by IMPC): the trade show
The Lightweight Metals and Composite symposium is part of the Conference of Metallurgists which is hosted in 2016 by the International Mineral Processing Congress (IMPC 2016) in Canada.
The Symposium intends to bring together fundamental and applied research knowledge in the context of the growing global need for greener materials and resources. Topics concerning advanced technologies will be expected in the areas of the production, processing, and applications of lightweight materials including light metals(aluminum, magnesium, titanium, etc...) as well as lightweight high strength steel and composites. These will include automotive, aerospace, and naval, plus structural materials, packaging, beverage containers, and more...
Presentations will include the following topics:1. Primary Production and Processing of Lightweight Metals. 2. Development of Lightweight Metal and Casting Techniques3. Advanced Manufacturing of Lightweight Metals4. Advanced Modeling and Simulations of Materials and Processing of Lightweight Metals5. Fabrication and Materials Characterizations6. Lightweight composites Developments and Processing7. Joining, Coatings, Finishing, Corrosion, and Product Performances8. Environmental Issues and Processing Solutions for the Lightweight Metals Industry
In addition to the symposium, IMPC 2016 will feature 15 technical streams varying from characterization, process control, flotation, rare earths, environment, plant design, etc
The Congress will have a full schedule offering workshops, industrial tours and a social program.
