What does the term “MICE” encompass?

MICE encompasses meeting and conference, company incentive tour and exhibition. Jeju has stength to meeting and conference and company incentive tour. Now days Jeju tries to hold many exhibitions.

What business opportunities does MICE Expo offer to Jeju’s economy?

Jeju CVB(JCVB) invited buyers who have MICE event in Jeju and they had business meeting with 66 local MICE company such as Hotel, PCO, DMC and rental company etc.we call seller.

By having a meeting, buyers and selllers  discussed  how to organize  their MICE events in Jeju and some of them mad a contract right there. 

It means, througout the JME, sellers can make real outcome and it contributes Jeju’s economy.

What do you think is the secret of the success of MICE Expo?

I think the secret of the success is JCVB invites real buyers who have events in Jeju and seller’s enthusiastic attitude.

MICE Talk Concert provides a platform to hold one on-one business meetings between buyers and local MICE businesses, can you give us some tips to have succeed in the next edition of the event?

Talk concert was for students who have interests in MICE. We gave opportunity to students for having a communication with MICE managers who work in CVB, cneter, DMC, hotel and assicoation.

Speakers described  real work condition and what they do after then they had Q&A time with students.

MICE Job Fair will be held for college students and graduates who look for their career opportunity, what kind of opportunities does this fair offer?

First of all, JCVB invited local company which has plan to hire. 

So participants brought their resume and summit to company.

Lastly, can you give us some participation results from the last edition?

JCVB condructed survey, and the result of  satisfction is ’Very  Satisfiction’ 48% and ‘Satisfiction’ 32%.

MICE is a term which refers to high value-added tourism: meetings, incentive tours, conventions, and exhibitions. 

The 3rd Jeju MICE Expo organized by the provincial government will be held from November 8-10 in ICC Jeju, South Korea. This show aims to promote and improve the competitiveness of local business. 100 major business in the industry from home and abroad were invited to this expo, which will offer business consultations with 65 MICE companies on Jeju Island. 

This year the show will feature more diversity because the number of international buyers who participate in the event has increased from 35 to 40 and the domestic buyers from 45 to 60 from laste year. More businees meeting will be arranged. In particular, more international buyers from ASEAN countries are invited with an aim to diversify the market for the development of the tourism industry on Jeju Island. 

MICE Jobe Fair will be held as a side event. It will be a place where employers and job seekerscould meet each other. The event also offers the MICE talk Concert where participants can enjoy free talkking and share their experiences and job information with people from convention centers (PCO's, hotels, Jeju CVB and other MICE business).
