What news have you prepared for the 2018 edition? What are the highlights?

For the second year in a row, IWCE will celebrate the IWCE Young Professional Award winners during an awards ceremony on Thursday, March 8 at 9:45 a.m. The award showcases the next-generation of leaders in the communications technology industry who are shaping the future of the industry.

IWCE’s Young Professional Awards recognize young professionals under 35 who have made a significant contribution in his or her company or agency and works in the communications technology industry. These individuals are executing some of the most innovative ideas, showing creativity and initiative.

Can you tell us something more about your special events in IWCE 2017? Do you recommend us an activity in particular?

We’re thrilled to be celebrating 40 years of insights, cutting-edge technologies and networking for communications technology professionals. The Product Showcase offers a look at the newest and most innovative technologies in the industry.

IWCE’s Keynote Address, Curtis Levinson, Cybersecurity Advisor to NATO will present the opening keynote address on March 23 at 9:00 a.m. and will discuss threats to the critical infrastructure, including power grids and communications systems across the globe and the U.S. adversaries that are targeting with cyber attacks.

IWCE’s Town Hall Meetings will provide attendees with detailed information on what government and association partners have been up to as they present their latest initiatives. Participating organizations include DHS’s Science and Technology Directorate, DHS’s Office of Emergency Communications, NIST, NTIA, NPSTC and ETA.

The Job Training and Education Center is designed for industry professionals interested in new employment. IWCE’s partners will discuss job training, continuing education and career planning.

IWCE’s TETRA Town hosts manufacturers working together to support a truly open-standard. TETRA is a mature and evolving technology, which is currently in use at Airports, Utilities and Transportation Agencies throughout North America.
