January 2014 Edition:
From 25 January to 2 February 2014 the Bergamo Fair will host the eleventh edition of BergamoAntiquaria, the market exhibition that has become an essential appointment in the vast and composite panorama of antiques. The important event will have a prologue on Friday the 24th, with the official inauguration at 7 pm.
The long-awaited event will be characterized by its unmistakable format, which blends the charm of tradition with the needs of a modern and dynamic market. Despite the moment of relative market difficulty, also slowed down by the economic crisis, the judgments of critics and experts on BergamoAntiquaria have been more than positive. And even the excellent response of the public confirmed that the event has won with merit a leading position on the national scene.
The 2014 edition of BergamoAntiquaria will see the participation of 80 Galleries, chosenby the organization to allow the public a path representative of the complex Italian antiquarian panorama. The exhibitors, each with its own specificities, come in particular from the pivotal centers of the sector. In addition to Bergamo, it therefore comes mainly from Brescia, Milan, Bologna, Florence, Rome, Naples.
The exhibition embodies the artistic and cultural specificities of the entire Italian landscape in a wide and heterogeneous overview that naturally turns its gaze across the alps. From Lombard furnishings to those of the Papal States, from Genoese furniture to those of the Kingdom of the two Sicilies,from the French to the English Victorian. The rich exhibition will include French and English silvers, but also those with the brand name of Lanterna or Valadier, Venetianpaintings, of the Roman school, but also of orientalists, Neapolitan guaches, Tuscan macchiaioli but also English watercolors of Gran Tour travelers. And then, glass, porcelain, majolica, jewelry, to satisfy the most demanding enthusiasts, and lovers of the last hour. Among the greatest meritsof BergamoAntiquaria,that of knowing how to approach the sector even those who do not normally attend the exhibitions-market, in particular of high antiques.
In BergamoAntiquaria space also for a tributeto the Accademia Carrara,which, despite the closure for renovations, has never completely stopped its activity.
