Iberflora: the trade show
Iberflora plays a highly significant role in the development of the sector at all times, and not just from a commercial perspective; in other aspects. Iberflora has also come to represent a point of reference: publishing a monthly magazine from 1971 to 1981, publishing the sector’s first yearbooks, holding five Floralias, promoting the work of florists through courses and demonstrations, and most important, it provides an example of pragmatism and professionalism. This event is one of the largest of the plant sector at international level, in terms of participation of Spanish companies and producers from other countries. The emergence of the Gardening Show and the development of the Horticultural Technology Show have given it even greater importance and have underlined it's facet as a point of reference. It's short duration, just three days, and the fact that it does not fall on a weekend demonstrate it's ability to adapt to the times; increasingly fewer people are prepared to work at the weekend. Thus for many years now, Iberflora has become an mendatory fixture for professionals from both Spain and a good number of other countries, attendance at which has almost become a ritual.
