What benefits brings the Show to the city of Toronto? (economical, touristic)

Canada is a Leading Player in Global Manufacturing. Ontario is the most populous and second largest province in Canada. Southern Ontario is home to the Nation's capital, Ottawa and Canada's largest city, Toronto, which is the provincial capital and one of the most multicultural cities in the world. The forests and numerous lakes of Central Ontario and Northern Ontario also provide popular hiking and camping destinations.

Canada has a large domestic and foreign tourism industry. The second largest country in the world, Canada's incredible geographical variety is a significant tourist attractor. Much of the country's tourism is centred on Canada's five largest metropolitan areas, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, and Ottawa, well known for their culture, diversity, as well as the many national parks and historic sites.

The Canadian economy specializes in machinery-intensive industries – manufacturing, agriculture, minerals, oil and gas, utilities, and construction. Companies in these activities spend almost $41 billion on machinery and equipment per year! In 2013, close to 80,000 manufacturing businesses generated revenues of $591 billion and employed about 1.8 million Canadians, accounting for 10.5% of the overall GDP. Canada is America’s largest goods trading partner with $632 billion (2013). The Province of Ontario is North America’s largest automotive manufacturing jurisdiction.

In 2012, over 16 million tourists arrived in Canada, bringing US$17.4 billion in international tourism receipts to the economy.[1] Domestic and international tourism combined directly contributes 1% of Canada's total GDP and supports 309,000 jobs in the country.

Who can attend the show?

FABTECH Canada serves the smallest job shops looking for a competitive edge to the mid-size and larger manufacturer seeking innovative solutions to complex problems. High-level company executives, manufacturing and engineering professionals and business owners from major industries, including aerospace, agriculture, appliance, automotive OEMs and their suppliers, construction, heavy equipment, military and defense, mining and utilities, recreational equipment, and non-automotive transportation are invited to attend FABTECH Canada to discover new technologies and source products to improve their business.

Can you give some tips for the exhibitors participating in FABTECH Canada for the first time?

For exhibitors participating in FABTECH Canada for the first time, I would tell them to be prepared. Review the floor plan and know where to find Registration, Show Management and the Sales Office. Take full advantage of all that FABTECH Canada has to offer beyond your booth including the networking opportunities, keynotes, expert panel discussions and educational offerings. Also, familiarize yourself with all the promotional opportunities that are available to promote your booth. It’s never too late to get the word out and let prospects and customers know you will be exhibiting at FABTECH Canada. Finally, never hesitate to stop and ask a member of our team if you have any questions or need assistance. We are here to help and make sure everyone has a great show!
