Benjamin Low, director of Hannover Messe, has answered us some questions about the next edition of Energy, to be held on April 25-29. If you want to experience the energy transition up close, discover new technologies, meet with experts from different disciplines and from all around the world, then you have to attend Energy 2016, held every year in the context of Hannover Messe.
Energy takes place annually into the context of Hannover Messe to bring together the pioneers of the energy industry. Who are the pioneers of this year?
For 2016 we have restructured Energy to be a one-stop showcase for all energy generation, transmission, distribution and storage technologies as well as alternative mobility solutions. We have a whole host of global pioneers that present themselves every year such as ABB, GE, Siemens and many other but I would strongly recommend that visitors go to our new Integrated Energy Plaza in Hall 27, which will show how individual technologies work with each other to form the energy system of the future.
The show is very committed to the generation of clean energy. What are the trends to come?
In the future, energy, mobility and communications networks will practically work as one, which will, in turn, create new business models. Concepts such as decentralized energy and virtual power plants will play increasingly important roles in the transition from traditional energy sources to renewables.
What are the secrets of the success of Hannover Messe?
HANNOVER MESSE is the only event that reflects the current state of the global industry. No other event presents such a complete overview of companies, products and trends – all in one place, at one time.
The trade fair attracts many international companies related to the industry. Do you have some tips for all those exhibiting in the show for the first time?
Preparation is the key to a successful trade fair participation. We provide all exhibitors with a marketing guide that explains step-by-step how to promote their exhibit and generate leads.
Who can attend the show?
HANNOVER MESSE attracts visitors from many sectors of industry – particularly the processing, energy and environmental technology sectors – as well as economic development, government and research organizations and the skilled trades. Our audience includes business and manufacturing executives, engineers, R&D specialists, purchasing managers, and IT and technical staffers as well as sales, marketing, finance and human resources professionals.
Besides the exhibition, we will have the opportunity to attend the leading forum to discuss new global market opportunities: Global Business & Markets. Do you recommend a session in particular?
I recommend that visitors set aside at least a few hours to visit Global Business &Markets, which is Europe’s leading platform for foreign trade. The exhibit floor is a great place to learn about investment and partnerships opportunities in roughly 50 countries. The conferences and forums also focus on doing business in diverse parts of the world as well as the core theme of HANNOVER MESSE: Industrie 4.0. Last but not least, the Investment Lounge is where visitors can talk with experts about such topics as financing, venture capital and import/export regulations.
Tell us, at least, three reasons why we can't miss this international event.
- HANNOVER MESSE is the world’s most comprehensive showcase for industrial.
- With5.000 exhibitors from 70 countries and visitors from 100 countries, HANNOVER.
- HANNOVER MESSE is where world-changing trends such as Industrie 4.0 and products and solutions MESSE is the most international industry eventIntegrated Energy first emerge.
Finally, what are the participation results of the last edition?
HANNOVER MESSE 2015 hosted 6,500 exhibiting companies and 220,000 visitors, but it is more accurate to compare this year’s fair to HANNOVER MESSE 2014 because in the odd years we have a bigger fair with fairs such as MDA (power transmission, fluid power, motion control) which take place every second year. HANNOVER MESSE 2014 hosted 180,000 visitors and 5,000 exhibiting companies.
