Don't miss this interview to know more about this extraordinary fashion event.
Cool Kids Fashion is the most attended children fashion show in China. What do you think that makes it different from other similar shows?
Organised by UBM China, Cool Kids Fashion Shanghai 2017 is China's must-attend children fashion event for trade professionals. It will feature a complete overview of children fashion and accessories (ages 0-16 years).
The event is comprised of an Exhibition, Trend Forums, Kids Fashion Show, Fashion Designers Gallery, Kids Fashion Design Contest, and Private Networking Events. Cool Kids Fashion Shanghai is an extraordinary platform for presenting new lifestyle and fashion trends for kids.
One of the unique differences with other similar shows is that in 2017, we have three shows co-located at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), China. CBME China 2017 is one-stop sourcing event for children, baby and maternity products, and services, which is the world’s largest trade fair for those categories.
During the show, you will also have the chance to enjoy parallel events, like Licensing Expo China.Licensing Expo China will also debut at the same venue. With this unprecedented synergy, a more vibrant business exchange between participants can take place on the show floor. For instance, exhibitors at the Cool Kids Fashion Shanghai can also become the licensees for Licensing Expo China by getting licensing properties and designing clothing with those properties.
As Cool Kids Fashion Shanghai trade visitors, they can not only find the latest kids fashion in the region but also can find overseas trending apparels. Also, Cool Kids Fashion Shanghai is the only trade show combining kids fashion shows and kids apparel trading in the region. Don’t miss it.
Can you advance some novelties for July's edition?
Apart from the exhibition, this year we will have Kids Fashion Shows, Exclusive Fashion Shows from Spain and a mixed brand fashion show.
Another interesting activity is the Kids Fashion Design Contest: the works of the finalists will be displayed here and they will take centre stage at the Kids Fashion Show for final judging.
Also, we will have Trend Forums featuring Ms Mianmian Zheng, Trend Director from WGSN to talk about the 2018/2019 Fall/Winter Kidswear Trends; Mr Raj, Visual Regional Merchandising Manager from H&M will share his insights on visual merchandising. Participants will come away with a wealth of first-hand information about what is in, and what is out.
What kind of brands will we find on the show floor?

As a premier trade show in China, what represents the show on the annual calendar of the industry in the region?
As China’s premier kid's fashion trade event, attendees can expect a very strong business element throughout their participation experience. All the programs offered by Cool Kids Fashion Shanghai are planned with our industry professionals in mind. The business matching program, for example, provides a superb opportunity for quality exhibitors to meet and negotiate deals with international buyers.
The contests and fashion show not only present new trends and ideas but also help groom new talent and create opportunities for designers and businesses to meet up. CKF Shanghai is essentially all about an extraordinary participation experience for everyone involved in the industry.
Can you give some advice to those attending the show for the first time?
For those attending CKF Shanghai for the first time, they can expect to witness an action-packed 3 days filled with lots of events, activities and opportunities. It is therefore very important that they plan ahead which exhibitors to meet, which events to attend and how to allocate their time.
They can visit the official website to pre-register by 7 July and start pre-selecting and arranging meetings with the exhibitors.
It is also noteworthy that visitors can enter not just CKF Shanghai, but also CBME China and Licensing Show China with the same pass. Because of the sheer size of the 3 fairs, we strongly recommend that visitors should watch out for these additional opportunities, and of course, wear a pair of comfortable and (fashionable) shoes.
Lastly, give us some participation details from the last edition.
CBME China and CKF Shanghai 2016 had a total of over 85,000 visitors, and nearly 2,400 exhibitors representing some 3,700 brands over 223,305 sqm exhibition space. This year, we will anticipate some 2,600 exhibitors, 4,000 brands in almost 240,000 sqm exhibition space, with around 88,000 visitors worldwide.
